Ephesians 1:7
“In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.”

Forgiveness begins with recognizing that we have already been given something we could never earn. Ephesians 1:7 reminds us that through Christ, we have redemption and forgiveness according to the riches of God’s grace. Forgiveness is not a reward for becoming perfect; it is a gift made available because of what Christ has already done.

Our theme this month, The Gift of Forgiveness, invites us to slow down and consider the generosity of a God who does not hold our past over our heads. Before we can understand how to extend forgiveness to others, we must become comfortable receiving the forgiveness God has already extended to us.

May today’s declaration remind you that forgiveness is not something you have to earn from God. Receive the gift. Release the shame. Allow His grace to remind you that your past does not have the authority to define who you are becoming.
